Bossing Images: The power of images, queer art, and politics is a series of public events examining the social field of images, artists, audiences, critics, and curators, organized by Jess Dorrance and Antke Engel as a project of the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (NGBK) Berlin and the Institute for Queer Theory. It explores the relations between the image and the observer, focusing specifically on images that engage with ambiguous genders, queer desires, freaky bodies, and the puncturing of other intersecting normative imaginaries.

These pictures document the events for use on the Bossing Images blog and also appear in the project’s eponymous book.
